Mark your calendars now to come attend our Spring Membership Meeting, which will be held in the Lecture Hall at Berkner High School. Never been there? Enter through the center doors on Spring Valley Road. There will be signs posted inside pointing you towards the lecture hall.
We will host a “Meet Your Neighbor” starting at 6 p.m. Our City Council will also be invited to attend if they are able. Free Pizza will be provided by The Line – a sports bar and grill located on Beltline (Check them out The Line). Getting to know one another is more than fun; it helps keep our neighborhood safe. The meeting proper will start at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Children are welcome, so don’t be shy…
Lindsay Thurman, Community Services Manager, will be one of two keynote speakers. Lindsay will provide clarification on the city’s new recycling capabilities that now includes various plastic bags and waxed paper containers such as milk cartons. There are some exceptions and Lindsay will clarify and answer and questions.
Sue Walker, Director, Economic Development, Richardson Economic Development Partnership, will be the second keynote speaker. Sue will explain what the partnership is, its activities, what its goals are, and how achieving these goals helps the COR, as well as, our immediate area including the Berkner Park neighborhood. There is a lot of economic development in progress, including retail in our area, and Sue is one of the most knowledgeable people in the entire city on this sub- ject matter. This is a topic that should be of wide interest as it affects everyone’s property.
Exciting things are happening here in Richardson right around Berkner Park. Come early to socialize, and stay to hear the good news that will affect us all. See you there!
