The Berkner Park Neighborhood Association September 2014 Yard of the Month is awarded to Jill Neyland at 2004 Eastpark Drive.
Jill has lived in Berkner Park since 1987 and continues to maintain one of the most beautiful yards in the community. Although the yard looks as if it were professionally landscaped with the vibrant colorful flowers and various hues of green firms, hostas, giant elephant ears and flowering shrubs, Jill designed and created the yard herself. It is easy to see that gardening is a passionate hobby for Jill, and Jill says that she receives great pleasure from seeing her accomplishments at the end of a long hot day of yard work. The wonderful part for her Berkner Park neighbors is that we also receive great pleasure from her talented horticultural accomplishments as we drive or walk by this lovely Eastpark home.
Jill admits that keeping such a magnificent yard has been a challenge this year with the severe water restrictions. However, Jill proves that it can be done because she has amazingly managed to maintain a beautiful yard. It takes extra work and landscaping ingenuity, but in can be done and we all owe Jill a great big BPNA thank you for helping to keep Berkner Park Beautiful.
