2019 Fall General Membership Meeting

September 24, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The meeting will feature three “key” city department directors who manage all activities associated with formulating and implementing the city’s long-range comprehensive plan.

  • Mark Nelson, Transportation & Mobility
  • Shawn Poe, Capital Projects & Engineering
  • Michael Spicer, Development Services

Some of the operational areas these departments are responsible for overseeing include:

  1. Regulations and guidelines that govern development of critical infrastructure within Richardson, including sewer, utility, roadway and highway corridor design guidelines.
  2. Oversight of the comprehensive planning process and administration of the zoning process and other land use related functions.
  3. Reviews residential and commercial zoning proposals and requests for zoning and fence variances.
  4. Traffic and transportation planning and related issues such as traffic flow management.
  5. Demographic analysis and special studies.

There are many traffic/transportation initiatives and redevelopment projects underway that will have a dramatic effect on the southeast area of Richardson.  For example: the redevelopment of the Main Street area of Richardson, the Arapaho Collins TOD and Innovation District (Telecom Corridor), the northwest corner of Richardson Square, and the new DART Silver light rail line, formally known as the Cotton Belt Line.

Roni Carrasco, Assistant Marketing & Development Manager, Eisemann for Performing Arts, will also be a meeting speaker.
