Richardson City Manager Dan Johnson will be the meeting’s keynote speaker. Mr. Johnson will address managing the city’s robust economic, commercial and apartment growth and its effects on the city and its residents, as well as, several other developments or activities that are important to all of us.
State Representative Linda Koop, House District #102, will also be attending the meeting. Representative Koop will provide an update on the district’s legislative agenda.
Henry Hall, Berkner High School’s Principal, will provide an overview of capital and other improvements that will soon be made to the school as a result of the 2015 RISD Bond that was approved by voters last November. Mr. Hall will also speak about the district’s STEM Academy which is housed within Berkner High School, STEM Academy and student achievements, and the millions of dollars in scholarships these students have been awarded as a result of their outstanding individual achievements.
In addition, we will also be providing some exciting news for our neighborhood…an update on the progress towards construction of our new neighborhood entry features and the announcement, along with a concept sketch, of a new butterfly garden to be installed in Berkner Park. This butterfly garden implements the vision of Phase 2 of the Beautification Committee’s Berkner Park Sign Project – a project that was initiated in 2011.
The Fish Shack will be providing complimentary food starting at 6 p.m. Chocolate chip cookies, a variety of chips and iced bottled water will also be available.
