This was the first year that BPNA participated in the citywide annual Trash Bash event to clean up Richardson neighborhoods. We had 33 enthusiastic volunteers show up on a very windy Saturday morning to pick up trash and recyclables. Because of the great turnout, we were able to cover many neighborhood streets and collected 28 bags of trash.

The volunteers were critical to the success of Trash Bash and without their time and energy; it would not have been possible to accomplish our goal to clean up the neighborhood. These wonderful volunteers got up early on a Saturday morning and gave up their precious time to pick up trash and recyclables along your streets and sidewalks. Especially rewarding was to see young family members volunteering alongside their parents. What a wonderful example these young Berkner Park residents are setting for the importance of volunteerism and community involvement. We owe each one of these dedicated Berkner Park neighbors a big debt of gratitude for their diligent efforts. Therefore, if you have an opportunity, please say thank you and express your appreciation to the following volunteers –
